I built a website in Wix a few months ago, but it doesn’t show up on Google for anything, not even my own business name. How can I fix this?
Hi Jess, Wix is generally not the best platform for SEO. In terms of what you can do to a Wix site to make it easy for Google to understand your keyword targets there are limitations. We suggest using WordPress when developing new websites which might seem a bit trickier at first and most costly if you need to pay someone else to develop the site for you, but in the end you’ll get a website that is much more professional, polished and easier to get ranking.
If you insist on staying with your current Wix site there are still a number of things you can do to improve your rankings, but ultimately it will take additional work to get the same results as it would on a better platform. It will give you the information you need not only to get your site ranking for your own name, but also for some of the other keywords you should be targeting.

I had a Wix website a while back too. Just because it was easy to set up, it didn’t look very professional though. I’m currently learning about WordPress and while it’s a little more technical there’s so much more you can do with it and the finished product looks so much better.
